The opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Learning Support & Wellbeing Advisor (12 month maternity cover) to join us at our iconic Etihad campus to develop and co-ordinate the learning support and disability provision, to widen participation, increase accessibility and deliver excellent student experience.

About you

The successful candidate will be degree educated and have relevent experience for the role, preferably in a public facing environment. They will also have experience of working with both students and staff.

Key tasks

  • To ensure UCFB delivers a comprehensive service of Additional Learning Support which complies with UCFB policy, student entitlement, EFA guidelines and statutory requirements
  • To keep accurate recording systems in relation to Learners and disseminate to staff as appropriate
  • To liaise with the Senior Learning Support and Wellbeing Advisor for setting, monitoring and reporting on appropriate quality standards for Learning Support, in line with Student Services requirements
  • To be responsible for ensuring that the initial assessment of Additional Learning Support needs is comprehensive, timely and rigorous
  • To liaise with external agencies and partners to ensure the smooth transition of students from college to UCFB, and for graduates onto the next stage of their development
  • To establish and maintain effective liaison with the IT services function to ensure that data on Additional Learning Support services is accurate, auditable and compliant with quality guidelines
  • To work closely with others teams and professionals cross-campus to ensure that learner support services are harmonised, coherent and mutually supportive
  • To assist the Student Services Manager in developing strategies to ensure successful outcomes from external inspection, internal and external audit and quality objectives
  • To take responsibility for co-ordinating Learning Support provision across UCFB Etihad Campus, working collaboratively with the Wembley campus learning support team
  • To work with personal tutors and programme leaders to ensure awareness of the range of Additional Learning Support needs and the ways in which UCFB may support learners with these needs
  • To ensure learning needs are assessed through the recruitment, admissions, enrolment, induction and screening processes and so ensure that additional learning support is well informed and planned

Additional information

Working hours: Working hours are between 8am – 8pm, exact hours to be discussed on appointment.
